By Day 11 (my 9th day on the VLCD) I was in a groove. Get up, have a cup of coffee or tea, around 10 have an apple or orange, lunch around 1, dinner around 6. I was doing well with getting in some sun each day, short walks, and a detox bath most every night. I have to admit though that the bath was because I tended to stay up too late, sitting right here at my computer, and my extremities would get so cold that I’d need a bath to warm up before I went to bed!
Day 11 was March 15th and on that day I had green tea and an apple in the morning, chicken, tomatoes, and a breadstick for lunch, and London Broil, spinach, and strawberries for dinner.
On Day 12 I woke up to a .6 pound gain. WHAT? I reviewed my day previous. It was a good day! I drank more water than necessary and followed every bit of protocol. The only thing I figured was the beef. I ate it in the evening. I did this back on Day 6 and had the same weight the next day. I decided at this point to only eat beef for lunch (since I had done that on days 8 and 9 and still lost the next day. I did see that those were small losses though.) I definitely did not want to give up beef!
So on Day 12 I stuck to chicken, chicken with cucumber, and chicken with celery.
Day 13 brightened my mood with a 2.2 pound loss! This loss also put me in the 220′s. This was a turning point for me. I now felt as though I was really losing weight! There was no stopping me now!
Raw vegetables, especially celery, seemed to give me a weight loss boost. On this day I had an orange, chicken, cucumber, breadstick, and then chicken, apple, and tomato. I had to remind myself that I’m was supposed to eat different vegetables and different fruits with the 2 meals. I don’t like many of the vegetables on the original list and I could see myself easily getting tired of eating the same ones over and over.
Day 13 brought with it a hectic afternoon and evening. We had an award ceremony for American Heritage Girls, that came with a cake bake contest, and after the ceremony I had a church council meeting that was going to last for a couple hours. I’m glad that I remembered to take my dinner with me. When I ate late at night, I didn’t show good losses. I did much better with having my meals at around the same time each day. In my busy schedule this took some preparation.
