Day 1 {31 Days to Clean}

On Day 1 of 31 Days to Clean we are asked to complete a mission statement as to why we want a clean home.
I’m going to copy someone else!
When I saw that someone else had written that I felt it summed it up for me also. I love having people over – for coffee, Bible study, etc. and so hospitality is a huge reason why I like to have my home clean.
I also felt that health (hygiene) was another important reason. I don’t want bugs! And I really like the bathrooms to be CLEAN! They are not always and it can make me insane!
And then finally happiness. It makes me happy to walk in the house and have it be clean – or rather tidy! I know it’s not always dusted and the baseboards are not always clean, but tidy…tidy is the goal. I want to walk into a room and literally be able to WALK in the room. LOL I have a place for everything and having everything in its place makes me happy.
The Martha challenge for today is to make a list of all the items needed to complete the Martha challenges for the rest of the 31 days. Here’s what I came up with that I would use to complete the challenges:
sponge
baking soda
paper towels
duster
cabinet cleaner
409 cleaner
windex
broom
mop
cleaning rags
laundry detergent
Q-Tips
comet
These are all items I have already so I’m ready to get started! As I was looking at the cleaning assignments I already know I’m dreading the one that is “clean out and organize all your kitchen cabinets.” Um … I have a big kitchen – and my cupboards are FULL. Not looking forward to that day!
I started today too. I laughed when I read about you dreading the kitchen cabinets. I feel the same way. It’s a HUGE task. Huge. It was the only task outside of scrubbing the bathtub in one day LOL that I went “wow that’s going to take hours”. Health is one I forgot on my mission statement. I am definitely going to add it to mine. I think to yours I’d add “Him” (since it’s an H and all) as the Lord is up there on my list. I’m SO glad to see so many people doing this this month.

I started today as well and my girls are joining me. Haven’t quite finished the mission statement. Love yours. Concise.
Love your mission statement! Hope your off to a good start and still cleaning strong! Ugh! EVERY kitchen cupboard… I’d probably slack off and only choose a few, but I’d choose the messiest ones, if that counts for anything! LOL!
