Favorite Ham and Cheese Party Sandwiches
Posted By Melissa on May 12, 2010
It was the end of 2005 or the beginning of 2006. I remember because I was pregnant with Hannah and she was born May 2006. I went to the Martino’s house for a baby shower for another family at our church. And the Martino girls had made these ham and cheese rolls. I hounded asked them for weeks days until they gave me the recipe.
They are a little more work than just making regular sandwiches, but oh so worth it!!! You must try these!
2 pkgs small party rolls, we like King’s Hawaiian
1/2 pound swiss cheese, sliced, approx weight
1/2 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced, approx weight
1/2 pound honey ham, sliced deli thin, approx weight
Mix together:
1 T. poppy seeds
1/2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 T. Dijon mustard
1 T. onion flakes
1 1/2 T. brown sugar
1 stick butter, melted
Slice through the rolls, horizontally, leaving the tops and bottoms intact.
Brush the butter mixture on both interior surfaces of the rolls. Then layer on swiss cheese, ham, mozzarella. Put the roll tops on and brush the tops with the remaining butter mixture.
Cover baking sheet with foil. Place rolls on top. Cut into individual rolls. Wrap the foil over the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Layer. Getting ready to go into the oven. The other set is on another baking sheet.
See the layers of cheese and ham? And the yummy mixture on top just waiting to be melted.
And done. Melted cheese. Crispy on top. I need to make these soon. Pretty sure I still have the cheese and ham since I always buy too much!

WOW! I’ll have to try those! They look delicious.
These look and sound delish! I bet they are a hit at parties!!
Those look great. The blend of swiss and mozarella cheese, the mustard, butter and brown sugar spread on the rolls–it all sounds like a wonderful combination of ingredients!
Oh, THANKS for the recipe! I have always wanted to make these… And boy, am I HUNGRY now! Wow.
Melissa!
This sounds like the little rolls my family used to make at holiday get-togethers years ago. I have been asking my mom, my sister, my aunts about this recipe and nobody could seem to remember who used to make them or the recipe.
I remember them as being my favorite holiday food.
