Bowling Alley – 29 Palms
Posted By Melissa on March 1, 2010
We went to the bowling alley for Matthew’s 9th birthday party and while there I decided to take some pictures for the blog. I have a list of other places that I’m going to take pictures of also, but if there is something you want to see (especially for those that are moving here), please let me know and I’ll make it happen.
Welcome to Sandy Hills Lanes. There are 20 lanes and they are open 7 days a week. On Saturday and Sunday they open at noon. We were there from 12 until 2:30 and there weren’t many people there at all. It was really nice!
The menu at the food counter:
We got cheese pizzas and they were really good. We also munched on french fries and onion rings and they were delicious also!

They do have a sign that says they won’t serve alcohol to those in uniform until 1600. No drinking at lunch time, Marines!!
We’ve not been here in the evenings and I just bet it’s a lot more crowded than at 2pm on a Saturday. We have friends that are in various bowling leagues and they also do a 3-week camp for children during the summer.
They do have the option of putting bumpers up – the kids love that! They get much higher scores. They also have these cute little guys that help the little ones roll their balls down the lane.
Not a bowler?? Become one.
It’s a great family activity, and just one more thing to do here at Marine Corps Combat Center, Twentynine Palms.

I LOVE our bowling alley on base! It’s SO cheap and the kids LOVE it!
We went bowling for Ben’s birthday (LOVE the bumpers!). We’ve also done it with a small homeschool group a few times and that has been so fun!
Love the bowling alley, the hubby and I often meet there for lunch and it can be pretty busy. They also have free bowling during the lunch hour on certain days.
